Autodesk 3Ds Max Design 2011

Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011 software offers compelling new techniques for bringing designs to life by aggregating data, iterating ideas, and presenting the results. Streamlined, intelligent data-exchange workflows and innovative new rendering features help designers collaborate in creating stunning, photo-realistic visualizations to optimally showcase design data from Autodesk Revit® Architecture, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Rhino, SolidWorks, FormZ, and Google Sketchup.

Significant enhancements to the 3ds Max Design modeling and texturing toolset, accessed through a new in-context user interface, help accelerate everyday workflows, enabling designers to better explore, validate, and communicate the stories behind their designs.

Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011 Features

Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011 Benefits

  • Efficient intergrated workflow with industry standard CAD applications
  • Provides visual design validation throughout the design process
  • Impress with stunning images and animation within the tight deadlines of commercial projects.

  • Interoperability with Autodesk applications including Revit Architecture using FBX-based Recognize scene loading technology or DWG files.
  • Improved importing for Autodesk Inventor models allows solid objects to be imported as 3ds Max Design bodies without the need for Autodesk Inventor to be installed on the same machine.
  • Import and export surfaces and solids non-destructively between 3ds Max Design and other application supporting SAT files such as Revit Architecture, Rhine, SolidWorks and FormZ. Imported trimmed surfaces, solids models, and assemblies are represented as 3ds Max Design “bodies”, retaining the native mathematical description of the surface. This enables cut-aways and reveals to be represented without artifacts, and for different tessellation parameters to be used for interactive display and rendering.
  • The updated Google SketchUp Importer allows Google SketchUp version 6 and 7 files to be imported into 3ds Max Design 2011 more efficiently. The enhanced SketchUp Importer supports layers, groups, components, materials, cameras, and the daylight system, and enables users to directly import SketchUp files from the Google 3D Warehouse.
  • New node-based material editor helps make it easier to create and edit complex material networks.
  • Quicksilver hardware renderer can render more efficiently and supports advanced lighting effects.
  • Improved viewport display allows almost every material and texture map to be viewed allowing for better decisions to be made within the display environment.
  • Enhance rendered passes and incorporate them into live action footage with 3ds Max Composite: a fully featured, high-performance, HDR-capable compositor, based on technology from Autodesk Toxik software
  • Manage the transition to the Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 release with the option to save scene files in a format compatible with the 2010 version. This enables you to take advantage of the new features in 2011 before your entire studio, pipeline, or client base is ready to upgrade.
